SUMMARY
The Vice President of Sales and Marketing will focus on mentoring sales staff, developing partnerships internally and externally, and increasing high-value, strategic opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with partners to grow and strengthen company’s position in the marketplace. Identify and lead new initiatives supporting business development both in traditional markets as well as markets of new opportunity.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mentor and train sales staff on best practices with emphasis on consultative sales approach
- Direct the development of strategies that address current and prospective market penetration, identification of new business opportunities and client trend analysis
- Lead client meetings with focus on current and potential business activities, trends and issues to be addressed to maintain and expand business using a solutions-based approach with emphasis on the distinctive value of company’s products
- Manage preparations and presentations business value proposals (RFPs) to clients, including leading pricing analyses and deal negotiations, and guiding follow-up discussions for the purposes of reaching an agreement that mutually benefits both parties
- Create strategic business plans for assigned market areas and prepare necessary analyses (e.g., competitive analysis, opportunity/risk analysis, SWOT analysis)
- Partner with other business units on product and service strategy and timing of delivery keeping success of client in mind and holding business units accountable for deliverables and client satisfaction
- Monthly, quarterly, annual and 5-year sales forecast and reporting
- Keep up-to-date knowledge of the language and testing industry, as well as the competitive posture of the company
- Provide input and recommendations for product offering and pricing
- Oversee Marketing projects and initiatives, i.e. Marketing Plan
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Planning
- Oversee the Research and identification of new business opportunities (channels, international distributors, etc.) by Director of Business Development, US Sales Manager and Global Task Force Team
- Participate as a leading member on the Global Market Task Force to develop joint international markets
- Submit assessments and recommendations to CEO and Global Task Force Team for review and approval
- Oversee the development of plans, agreement terms, forecasts, and timeline for new business development
- Present plans to departments for input, feedback and refinement of a final plan
- Develop Specific Action Items and PIs and timelines for new business development based on input from Core company Directors
- Coordinate and drive the execution of approved business plans with departments, per the timeline
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Business or Marketing
- B2B sales experience, preferably in the area of testing, HR or language services
- 10+ years of proven, professional track record and experience as a sales executive

- Working knowledge of complex sales cycles and ability to navigate the sales process with multiple stakeholders and decision makers with positive results
